traditional Korean millinery | Luck and Eyes
This head piece is a Johkduri , a traditional bridal hearwear. For this work I created a complete set, from packing to the small accessories. First you will unravel the (보자기)package and open the box where inside it has the Chubgi set.
This Chubgi set is a way of fixating the headwear on the head so it won't move around. After the Chubgi accesory is settled on the head, the Johkduri comes on.
The fabric designer, Yaloo pop, created a charm where she embellished the fabric with peaches, a symbol of luck in Korea and eyes, a symbol of fortune.
